Jacob P. Brinkman is a Graduate of Fredonia University where he received his BFA in Theatrical Production and Design. Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic, he graduated from the University of California, Irvine with his MFA in Lighting Design.

 

Currently, Jake is working for Walt Disney Imagineering in the Anaheim office where he gets to 'play' in Walt's park doing what he loves most.

​

Right after the pandemic, Jake earned his Union Card for IATSE 728 working as a Lighting Programmer and DMX tech in Hollywood, California. He has worked on shows for MARVEL Studios, Amazon Prime, and Apple+. Jake also freelanced for Radiance Lightworks, designing for corporate events and theme parks worldwide.

Some of Jake's favorite theatre designs include Company, Mad MadgeRent, and Richard III. In addition to theatre, Jake has designed over 50 pieces for dance and was the Resident Lighting Designer for the Orchesis Dance Company in Fredonia NY for two years. He has worked for Choreographers like Lar Lubovitch, Chad Michael Hall and Jon Leher.

Jake served as the Head Electrician on the International Tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat working with Howell Binkley's Design team, Ryan O'Gara and Joe DoranHe also worked on the National tour of Once with his best friends from college and has filled in on The Phantom of the Opera tour as an Assistant Electrician. He spent 5 seasons at his "second home" at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival serving as their Production Electrician.​

​

Jacob has also worked as a designer at HLB Lighting Design, the largest architectural lighting design firm in North America. There he has collaborated on many airport terminals, academic buildings, performing arts centers and an aquarium!

​

When not working, Jake likes to discover new craft beers while eating tacos.
